Open Settings from the sidebar

Settings link in the left sidebar menu, which expands to reveal sub-menu options including Canned Responses

Navigate to Canned Responses in Settings

Clicking the Canned Responses menu item in the settings sidebar, opening a table of pre-written reply templates with short codes

Click Add Canned Response to open the form

Clicking the Add Canned Response button in the top-right corner, opening a modal form with Short Code and Message fields

Click the Short Code field

The Short code input field highlighted with a blue focus border, ready for text entry

Type a short code for your canned response

Deselect the Short code field

The Short code input field losing focus, indicated by the blue border disappearing after clicking elsewhere on the page

Type your canned response message

The Message field in the Add Canned Response dialog filled with the text: Hello! Thank you for contacting us. How can I help you today?

Click Submit to save the canned response
